I chose the Family Medicine Program at Conway Regional because in my third year of medical school, I had my very first rotation at a rural outpatient primary care clinic in Oklahoma. During this rotation I realized the powerful and long-lasting relationship a family physician has with their patients and the wide array of opportunities to help patients ranging from medical management, procedures such as joint injections, women’s health care, and supporting a patient and family in difficult conversations such as end of life planning. I felt strongly that family medicine was the right path of medicine for me and had hopes of returning to my hometown to serve my community. When I did my audition rotation during fourth year at Conway Regional, I met residents who were encouraged to learn, faculty that were devoted and excited to teach, and patients and staff that were welcoming to doctors in training leading me to matching with the Conway Regional FM program. As a third year and chief resident, I have truly enjoyed learning from my attendings, working alongside my co-residents, and I feel that I am exceptionally prepared to go out and care for the patients in my community after completing training.
I have been married to my husband, Lance, for 5 years and we have an almost two-year-old daughter, Bailey. Our family also has two Labrador retrievers, Katy and Bella. In my free time I enjoy traveling, hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time on the lake with my family.
