Hi! I am Nelson Tabe and I grew up in Buea, Southwest Region, Cameroon. I received my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and then went on to medical school at the University of Beau Faculty of Health Sciences. As a boy I spent most of my holidays selling fried snails at the front of a hospital. Sometimes, I will look through the windows to see what doctors and nurses did in the emergency room to help people. Seeing people come in “lifeless” and leaving with strength was fascinating to me.

This exposure built my interest in medicine. I was in search of a training site that had a balance between quality of training and availability of support I needed to go through the training. I found this on the day I came for interview. Then, a new program at the time, the honesty with which the faculty answered my questions and their desire to make active changes as we go through the program was a great attraction for me. In addition, I have a young family and needed a program that will expect me to work hard in acquiring the knowledge and skills of an internist as well care for my family. Such a balanced environment is hard to find nowadays. Now when I look back, I will pick this program again and again. 

In my free time I love to spend time with my family. Together, we enjoy watching action movies and playing and watching soccer.
